Although most new bloggers don't make much money, a talented blogger (good writer) can make over $20,000.00 per year! The cool thing about making money from writing content that is published online is that it continues to pay you for as long as people read your articles!
I own a few different web sites / blogs / forums and sell ads that make a substantial income just by adding Google AdWords and selling text links.
I use GoDaddy.com as my hosting provider and they're now offering this Combined package where they include WordPress for Blogs! Make Money writing!
Chose your web site name and chose what to write about! If you're new and don't have a lot of readers, then I'd start with a small hosting package. If you're a good writer and think you can generate some serious interest, then maybe move up to a bigger hosting package.
If you've got a well known name then you may want to own: YourName.com but if you are not an established writer and want to write about a specific subject, then maybe chose a domain name like: MyFavoriteSubject.com
